After hammering Huddersfield, Arsenal play Manchester United next

Alexandre Lacazette is clever playmaker as well as a fine sharpshooter.

So he is a good focal point for Arsenal’s slick-passing attack.

It’s a great shame that the striker will miss Saturday’s game against Manchester United with the groin injury that forced him off at half-time.

The early goal settled Arsenal and showed Wenger’s oft-proven ability to take his training style into a stadium. He took Colney into Highbury, now he takes it into Ashburton Grove.

That’s the key to the fluency of Arsenal’s attacking patterns, while the three centrebacks give them a solidity that’s lifted them to fourth place

Arsenal needed only three minutes to slice through the Huddersfield defence: Ozil to Lacazette to Xhaka to Ramsey, flick to Lacazette.

He ‘s such a bright and tidy striker – and busy too. He then had a clever chip over the keeper hooked off the line.

But it was only 1-0 at half-time.

Giroud replaced Lacazette and Mesut Ozil demolished the newly-promoted visitors with two assists and a goal in a dazzling second-half spell.

Ozil is 29-year old World Cup winner whose contract expires at the end of this season. But you knew that.

Arsenal v Man United is on Saturday at 5.30pm.

Everton v Huddersfield is at 3pm and their midfielder Wayne Rooney scored a hat-trick for Everton last night.

It’s a beautifully blue sunny day in London town & I’m really looking forward to my breakfast, and to Christmas.  My Xmas starts when I have my first mince pie…and I had three last week.
