As you know, ANR has been more of a forum since 2010.
Readers have disagreed with me and disagreed with each other.
Last week one reader accused me of making up the letters we publish here.
Talking to my good friend Nigel Bidmead yesterday, I was shouting at him, swearing profusely, and being horribly abusive.
I first met Nigel at Highbury when he was Arsenal’s ClubCall guy and I worked for The Scotsman.
Nigel feels football, knows the game inside out, played semi-pro in California.
He’s a lifelong Arsenal supporter. a balanced guy, a charmer, a very knowledgeable sports journalist who works in radio and TV. He interviews managers and players all the time and has done for decades. And his overview is one I value.
I love Nigel, always have, always will.
But we disagreed, as friends sometimes do.
I think I’ve already made it clear that Nigel is a lovely guy as well as smart. He would never scream at anybody the way I screamed sat him yesterday.
Why did I shout at him?
Frustration.
Inside the next half hour I’ll post his succinct defence of Arsene Wenger.
