John Silton’s forensic and precise summary of Wenger’s failings is the best I’ve read in a long time.
We all get so agitated about the guy it’s good to read a calm assessment of the situation which condemns him beyond all possibility of refutation.
The plain truth is that Arsenal are hobbled with an eccentric manager who cannot take us forward, who is indeed taking us down. The question is how are things ever going to change?
As John Silton says, Wenger IS Arsenal and he’s on a free pass until he decides it’s time to call it a day.
His job just isn’t performance-related. He’s single-handedly overturned the laws of gravity.
What can we do? We’re powerless and protests and petitions and chanting just seem so naff. The only hope is he skulks away out of shame but knowing his talent for self-deception that’s unlikely too.
Will he look for a new contract? I’m sure he will and the board will probably beg him to stay, so more dog days ahead lads.
