From Subhrajit Ghadei: 3 DNA thoughts from my 17 years of watching football
1. Coming back from goal down and showing character is more of a club DNA thing rather than players specific.
I bet on Man U and Bayern to come back but not Barca or Madrid or even Chelsea. Juventus is also good at it. It’s not about the results but how you respond to going a goal behind.
They may not win but the response of Man U and Bayern over the years is just fantastic.
2. Benzema is a one-of-a-kind footballer.
Forget that he is a striker or whatever. I have not seen Benzema drift out of the game for even a minute. He may play badly but will never drift out.
Schweinsteiger of Bayern and Inzaghi of Milan are few other who are close to Benzema in this regard. I have seen great figheters like Keane, Vieira, Hierro, Messi and many others drift out or lower their intensity in matches.
But even if the team is 5-0 up and 1 minute to go for the end, Benzema still maintains the intensity. It’s like an attitude in his DNA.
3. Unless you play against players like Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez, Alonso, Schweinsteiger or even someone like Drogba, you will always undermine their importance.
They can actually get into many great teams of different eras say Brazil of 1970, Dutch of 1974, Ajax or 1994, Arsenal of 2004, Milan of mid 2000s and many more.
Any team on earth could use Fabregas.
He is a combination of Pirlo and Sneijder (whom I value more as enforcer, even more than Vidal who is known as a enforcer).
Rosicky is a poor man’s Sneijder, in terms of attitude and style.
Too much of DNA in my letter, but after all DNA defines your characteristics.
Fix the DNA and most of issues are fixed…
Same applies to Arsenal, remove AW and get someone like Klopp, De Boer, Mourinho or Guardiola or Capello or Lippi to fix the DNA thing.
How can a manager who keeps Diaby for million years at a 60K per week and expect the team to the right attitude on the pitch? Players will produce mediocrity.
Someone like Sanchez and Viera would kill half of our team, if killing was legal.
I can see a lot of Vieira in Sanchez and Fabregas. I am talking about the fire in their eyes.
Myles says :
Fabregas on his own is better than all 14 Arsenal midfield players.
Big PV4 on his own was better than this whole fucking squad.
