Exciting game tonight, as I knew it would be.

Every UK football fan has by now seen the Del Horno red card incident, when he went over the ball and bodychecked Messi, who had just turned Robben inside out by the corner flag.

Messi saw him coming, jumped up, and Del Horno went over the ball and slammed into him. Listening to commentator Andy Gray’s reaction made me wonder whether Abramovich had bought Sky.

Gray said the challenge was “hugely clumsy” and the red card was “a bad decision.”

JOSE MOURINHO said it was a pure game up till the Del Horno incident. He claimed it should not have been a red card. And the rest of what Mourinho said was the most moody, most mercurial, most self-pitying, most whingey bad loser post-match interview I have ever seen.

On his TV commercial, Mourinho said, “My life is about keeping one step ahead. That’s why my card is American Express.”
