Subject : FIFA and IFAB cronies should resign. Good riddance England, thank God for the Argies!

Sepp Bladder and his conservative, traditional crony mates at FIFA and the IFAB should all resign for not voting in favour of goal-line technology just three months ago. Every other major sport in the world has digital technology but the old farts in charge of world football won’t have it. What a disgrace to the sport today, to see such a monumental error in not allowing Frank Lampard’s fantastic goal when the whole world saw that the ball clearly crossed the line. Imagine if England lost 2-1. Shame on FIFA and the IFAB.

But England were abysmal. Like you said Myles, they were clueless in attack, running the ball continuously out to the wings and down blind alleys. And that was the worst defensive display I’ve seen by England in decades.

Beckenbauer was right. England were stupid to come second in their group and they are burnt out. Their best players, apart from Rooney, are old and burnt out after a long, arduous season. Germany were fantastic. They looked fresher, more creative, technically superior, as usual. Who would believe that in their last competitive match against Germany, England won 5-1.

Capello was so hopeless that he substituted Defoe for the lump Heskey.

As if Heskey, who has about the worst goal-scoring ratio per minutes on the pitch for a striker in top flight football, was going to score now. Pathetic.

Good riddance, England. No one is sorry when the English get knocked out except the English.

What’s the difference between the World Cup and a tea bag?  The tea bag stays in the cup longer. What do you call an Englishman in the knock-out rounds of the World Cup? A referee!

On the other hand, thank god for Argentina.

What a breath of fresh air they are. Maradona and his team only know how to attack, to try and create at every chance. It was hard for them to be circumspect when 3-0 v Mexico. Let’s hope they can do it again against the Germans.

Everyone will be hoping Argentina, the temperamental but brilliant latinos with the world’s best player, can avenge themselves against the krauts.

Higuain, Tevez and Messi are nothing short of brilliant and it will take a lot for Germany to stop them scoring at least once.
