Peter Crouch scored the winner with a header in 82 minutes.
A big goal by a big man.
Kaboul crossed and the ball deflected off Wayne Bridge and hit keeper Martin Fulop and broke for the striker to nod in.
So it was Crouch who won the game between Man City and Spurs, the game for 4th place.
An open game with plenty of chances and saves, not the tense, defensive battle I had expected. It was 0-0 at half-time and that was the only thing I got right.
Tevez was on fire at the start. He looked skilful, fast, fearless and indefatigable. But he burned himself out, partly because Adebayor isn’t good enough to link with him.
Adebayor’s main achievement up there is buying Cristiano Ronaldo’s house.
I’m sure it’s good for parties. He lost the ball and lost the ball again and then ran offside. A tosser. I always thought Peter Crouch was a better player than him.
Harry Redknapp is wide boy who has never been my cup of tea.
But he plays players in their proper positions and always puts a team out. And he never gloats.
Harry joked in the interview that some of his assistants had argued for 4-5-1, presumably because a draw would leave Spurs one point ahead of City with one to play. When pressed on which of his henchmen favoured 4-5-1 he laughed and refused to give names. At least we know H listens to suggestions.
Warning to Spurs : the Champions League qualifying Round will be harder than you think.
I’m interested to see how Spurs will do in the Champions League, if they qualify. I’ve underrated them. I didn’t think they would beat Arsenal and I certainly didn’t think they would beat Chelsea and I doubted whether they could keep a clean sheet at Eastlands.
Ledley King, a defender I’ve loved from the first time I saw him at the Lane, was awesome. What a player.! And what a great lad.
Good luck to King, who has played twice as many games as Rio Ferdinand this season.
Fabio Capello was at the match.
