Apropos to not much,
Stan Kroenke owns an NFL team, the LA Rams. They have just moved back to LA from St. Louis, where they were the St. Louis Rams, from 94 to 2015. Prior to that they were, again, the LA Rams from sometime in the 50s.
Anyway. Despite moments of promise and a smattering of good players from recent drafts, the team are consistently mediocre.
The joke around the league is that their coach always guarantees a record of 8-8 (8 wins, 8 losses) in a 16 game regular season. Said coach, Jeff Fisher, is like an authoritarian and somewhat eccentric equivalent of Alan Curbishley, if you will. Fisher’s records in his five years with the Rams: 7-8-1, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9, 4-9, which is actually worse than 8-8.
He lost his 165th game as a coach on Sunday, tying him for most losses overall by a coach. His team have gone backwards in the last few years with this season being the worst. Even players are saying that the team are muddled and are just going through the motions – their current record is 4-9 with 3 games to go.
Fisher was awarded a multi-year extension by the Rams at the start of December.
