It’s early days.
But Arsenal are starting to find their game, their fluency.
Having saved the night it Paris by scoring the equaliser in 78 minutes on Tuesday, Alexis Sanchez scored the first goal and the third in Arsenal’s 4-1 victory at Hull.
Sub Granit Xhaka scored the ffinal goal with a scorching shot from 25 yards
I love spectacular goals.
Apparently Guardiola wants Sanchez at Man City. That’s understandable.
Sanchez is far better than Nolito or Sterling or Navas. If he joined City the Chilean star would be supplied by the most creative midfielder in Europe.
Marcus Rashford started a Premier League game for the first time at Watford.
Ighalo missed an open goal early on but Capoue put Watford back on track with another fine goal in 34.
1-0 at half-time.
When Ibra’s left wing cross broke off Behrami, Rashford equalised with typical aplomb from three yards.
Capoue went off in 81 and Walter Mazzarri brought on Colombian sub Juan Zuniga, who is on loan from Napoli.
Zuniga made it 2-1 within 60 seconds of his arrival. A terrific goal.
When Fellaini tripped Zuniga in the box, skipper Troy Deeney smashed the penalty straight down the middle to wrap up the points.
4-4-2 LIVES!!!
The Special One has now lost three games in eight days.
United have no balance, no real fluency, no play round the ball – and the defence is a shambles.
Next Saturday’s lunchtime game on Sky is Man United v Leicester.
Ranieri’s new Algerian striker Islam Slimani scored twice in a 3-0 victory over Burnley.
Slimani looks like the striker Wenger should have signed: a big poacher with tidy technique who could bury the chances Giroud muffs.
Chris Smalling, please note.
