Klopperpool v Spurs might be a festival of gegenpressing

Spurs have a pitiful recent record at Liverpool.

Why?

Because their teams have been far less efficient than they are now.

Tonight’s match will be different, regardless of who wins.

Jurgen Klopp is a hugely enthusiastic & infectious football lover who’s been very impressed by what Mauricio Pochettino’s been doing.

This morning I saw Klopp say, “It’s exceptional, it’s unbelievable, how strong they are.”

This follows on neatly from my theme after Berlin, that Engerland should rigorously practice the Pochettino style in training.

Clearly, England don’t have the experience or tactical know-how to play a defensive game, so they have to play an energy game to beat Russia on June 11.

Spurs play Klopp’s kind of game: fast, slick attacking football, very dynamic, a bit untidy at times but working fiercely to win the ball back and attack again ASAP.
