Stoke v Arsenal will be tight/Liverpool v Man Utd could bring goals

Sunday is the big football day.

Stoke are 7th, Arsenal are top.

Stoke have won 9 games, Arsenal 13.

Arsenal conceded three goals at Anfield on a noisy night of rain, snow and mistakes.

Having predicted that Arsenal would win at Anfield, I’m not gonna say that they’ll beat Stoke.

When is Alexis Sanchez coming back?

I can’t remember the last time I saw Arsenal’s best player on the pitch.

IT’S BEEN TOO LONG.

The team is doing very well but they need the hot Chilean. If Sanchez had played at Anfield, Arsenal would have won.

That match was a battle Arsenal almost won anyway.

And never mind the transfer window, Wenger has a new player : Joel Campbell.

He’d never been used and never trusted.

But Joel Campbell has shown the manager a helluva lot in recent weeks.

Wenger now knows that Campbell is reliable & versatile & tenacious.

He can help Arsenal win games.

Liverpool v Man United is often dramatic.

But it was dramatic when one or both sides were riding high and that’s not the case these days.

Today Liverpool are 9th and Manchester United are only 6th.

But they’re only three points between them.

THAT WILL MOTIVATE KLOPP’S BOYS, I reckon.

Rivalry is fun, rivalry generates atmosphere.

Your rival makes you stronger, except when you get too fired up.

Stevie G won’t stamp on Herrera’s leg this time and get sent off.

Wayne Rooney won’t do anything that silly at Anfield.

That ‘s my only prediction.

Its an interesting challenge for Martial, the striker Arsenal should have signed.

Monaco told Wenger that Anthony Martial wasn’t for sale but then Man United signed him for stupid money.

Sometimes  it’s smart to acquire a really gifted young striker for stupid money.

Like many football fans, I talk too much about strikers and write too much about goalscorers. I always think : Lukaku back at Chelsea today, Wow! Can they stop him? Maybe. Because Courtois knows where he’s gonna shoot…

And I always think: Giroud played his best game in that 3-3 last week but today he’s up against Jack Butland, who is bigger and better than Mignolet.
