From Andrew Rymer : interesting goings on from Arsenal
AW bidding big money for Suarez is surprising.
Could there be a link to Higuain? Big clubs ex Real have made moves for strikers.
Can’t believe AW will sign Rooney, not his type of player. Speculation that Fergie did not like his lifestyle and is happy for a sale suggests this is a smokescreen, thankfully.
If Cesc moves to Old Trafford this summer there’s a huge signal to the Arsenal board over what to do regarding the manager.
Don’t blame the management for being patient with transfers but we need to move sometime soon!
Would love to sign Suarez.
Right player, right age. Forget the ban.
Think he got bored at Liverpool – not sure if that’s an excuse for biting Ivanovic but he can’t get worse!
Myles says:
Big name transfers? What do I think?
If Cesc Fabregas signs for David Moyes\’s Man United, Wenger is finished.
That would be a far more damaging comment on Arsene FC than anything that could be said by a fan or a journalist.
On Monday morning I got a phone call at 10 a.m. saying the Suarez deal was 100%, according to sources at the club.
Good source but I was in no rush to blog this information.
A week is a long time in football and anything can happen.
Instead, I emailed Le Grove : Just been told LS is 100%. Don\’t tweet this. Let\’s sit on it for 48 hours.
Pedro replied: Fingers crossed Myles! I was told Arteta has been smoothing the way… and terms have been agreed with the player. Would be the best signing of the summer.
This is a shocking U-turn by Wenger!
Luis Suarez is a proven star who will cost £50 million.
Why is Wenger doing this? Two reasons.
1. To keep his job.
To extend his dictatorship, he has to sign a star
2. He’s finally realised his Colney crèche is a team of choirboys.
They’ve won nothing for eight years and are putting his unique job at risk.
Wenger\’s not stupid. He wants to stay where he is. He knows that if he was coaching Lazio, the fans would have been throwing bricks at his car six years ago.
Let\’s wait and see what happens.
If Arsenal sign Suarez, I\’ll tell you what I think of him as a footballer.
