If Rashford scores two goals, Roy Hodgson has to take him

I know Marcus Rashford  wasn’t great in the semi-final.

He did OK against Everton but looked a teeny bit raw, a bit… new and inexperienced.

But Rashford’s started 17 of Manchester United’s last 18 games.

He’s one those footballers with a calm  temperament.

While Martial, a world class striker, should be today’s matchwinner, Rashford is a natural finisher who does things spontaneously and that’s a rare quality.

I hope Rashford has a bigger career than Patrick Kluivert, a teenager managed by Van Gaal a long time ago. Let’s hope he never wears leather trousers or owns a nightclub.

If Rashford score two goals today, I think Roy Hodgson should take him.

Goalscorers win matches, not journeymen midfielders who run 13km.

(Although football is, of course, a game of running and more running and even more running.)

FA Cup Finals?

I remember a few from  when I was a kid & I went to many as a journalist, when Wembley became my second home, with so many Charity Shields and England games. Wrote a few pieces for the Wembley programme.

Do I give Crystal Palace a chance? Yes.

Because they’ve played well in the FA Cup and because Puncheon and Cabaye are decent midfielders.

I’M EXPECTING A TIGHT GAME, NOT A MASSACRE.

Yannick Bolasie is a player I love to watch because he’s explosive.

The things Bolasie does are improvisational and really fun to watch.

Kick-off is at 5.30pm on BBC1
