From Tim Rowland : word limit
Hi Myles,
I thought your PS to Poet was harsh.
He took the time to write a lengthy and interesting email to you and I can see no word limit suggested for submissions. I really enjoyed his email and would have read more of it.
Still loving your blog but if you don’t like an email why not just reply privately instead of publicly criticising?
Myles says:
I published Poet because what he wrote was original.
My throwaway PS was NOT putting him down & my editing was minimal.
From Phil : Re Poet
I agree with most of the points Poet made in his short tirade…except for The Ox coming up short-of expectations.
I feel Ox has been one of our better players this season. He has changed our dynamic and urgency in every game he has came on as a sub. But why hasn’t he started??
Stumped.
From Tim Barrett : Poet
Myles,
That’s quite a mail from Poet. I’d like to try and be more succinct:
Since the Invincibles, AW has seemly set every other team he has produced to play as if they were the Invincibles.
I can’t understand why he doesn’t see that the players has had over the past few years are simply not as good as the Invincibles.
Myles says :
They are also not as big.
But Lord Wenger certainly knows there is a serious size difference between Gilberto-Vieira and Cazorla-Coquelin.
Having made history with giants, he now wants to make money by finishing third with midgets playing five-a-side possession phootball.
However, the Arsenal Corporation does have one thing in common with the Highbury Arsenal of the 20th century.
Both lack ambition.
Denis Law was available but Arsenal didn’t sign him. Higuain was definitely available this summer but Arsenal didn’t sign him.
None of what Wenger does is accidental.
Everything you see is deliberate, everything is his policy…. regardless of what he says.
I’LL REPEAT THAT : Everything is deliberate.
