Silvinho set to leave

Arsenal admitted yesterday that Silvinho will be allowed to leave Arsenal.

Inter and Barcelona appear to be interested, with a price being quoted of £10m. Deportivo are also in the picture.

“Silvinho is in the early stages of being transferred but we do not want to say anything which could jeopardise the deal,” David Dein was quoted as saying.

Silvinho lost his first team place to Ashley Cole and wants first team experience prior to the World Cup.

However, he says that the move was not initiated by him. He was happy to stay at Highbury and enjoy a rivalry with Cole for the left-back slot.

Upson too?

According to the Mirror, Arsenal may sell Matthew Upson to Middlesbrough. They have previously bid unsuccessfully for £1m.

Demel goes to Dortmund

Arsenal sold French midfielder Guy Demel, 20, to Borussia Dortmund for £200,000.

He was taken on a year ago, and dubbed the new Patrick Vieira.

Barrett and Stepanovs to Beveren?

Arsenal are ready to take advantage of a link with Belgian club Beveren with Irish striker Graham Barrett and centre-half Igors Stepanovs possibilities to follow Tomas, who is already there.
