Arsenal news is getting like the stuff of horror fiction.
Out of 24 first team players, 5 are injured – Vermaelen, Monreal, Arteta, Diaby, Miyaichi. And two are doubtful, Sagna and the player who said that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of Abou Diaby – Sanogo, who withdrew from the France u-21 squad with a hamstring problem. And three – Frimpong, Bendtner and Park can hardly be called regulars. The Mail has a good article on it today.
So it naturally follows, along with the lack of transfer activity that Arsenal are 10/1 for the title with Coral. Manchester City and Chelsea are the current co–favourites at 9/4, Manchester United are 5/2. But for those who think fourth is a title, the bookies have better news as Arsenal are are 8/13 to finish in a Champions League spot again with Liverpool 13/8 to be in the top four and Tottenham 15/8.
You’d have thought Arsenal would push the boat out to get new players, but according to the Mirror, Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins is angry that Arsenal only offered £6m for Ashley Williams, and is threatening to “call the whole deal off.”
So why are Arsenal fans are getting RSI?
….Repetitive Suarez Injury…
Great that the club is going after quality players, but what about more positions and a wider pool. The season already seems stale with a lot of people Suarez’ed out.
Arsenal should have done with it and sign the other Luis Suarez: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Su%C3%A1rez_Miramontes, announce it at a press conference and get him to scout players..so long as they are not called Luis Suarez. And we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
And finally, ANR began life 18 years ago today. Lot’s of experiences (good and bad) along the way.
