Ozil, Xhaka and Bellerin?
None of them deserve to play for the club again!
I’d loan them out to European clubs and pay all 100% of their wages just to get them out of my squad.
Wenger’s decision to put Mesut Ozil on £350,000 a week in January 2018 was the most self-defeating decision I’ve seen in football since Alf Ramsey took Bobby Charlton off against West Germany in Mexico in 1970.
Eden Hazard came on with 20 minutes remaining and when Lacazette made an idiotic pass to a blue shirt, Hazard created the winner for left back Marcos Alonso.
The defending by both teams was so amateurish that Arsenal could have won 4-3 but could also have lost 7-6.
Last week Tony Adams was entitled to ask: What has Emery been doing for the last six weeks?
Elsewhere, Spurs sub Eric Lamela made a slicing run and his sublime pass allowed Harry Kane to score his first goal in August.
Spurs beat newly-promoted Fulham 3-1 at Wembley.
Man City thrashed Huddersfield 6-1 but that was too one-sided to be interesting.
Later on Sunday I switched on Brighton v Manchester United as the second half was about to start and found I had missed all the fun.
Brighton were winning 3-1 and United didn’t get one back till centreback Shane Duffy conceded a 91st minute penalty I thought was dubious. But Pogba converted.
Six clubs have won their first two games while four have lost their first two. Those four clubs are Arsenal, Fulham, Huddersfield and West Ham.
The luckless Emery inherited the squad from hell and also the August fixtures from the same place.
But his next game is much easier: Arsenal v West Ham is on Saturday.
PS. Mateo Kovacic, the 24-year old Croatian signed on loan from Real Madrid, looks classy. Chelsea’s Jorginho-Kovacic-Kante midfield seems to have a bit of everything while Sokratis looked like a donkey. Again.
