From A fading friend : Let’s make a deal
Wake up!
What’s wrong with you?
Why are you apologizing to poor, spoiled little Nicky Bendtner?
He should be the one apologizing to thousands of passionate Gooners the world over.
And explaining why a supposedly GREAT professional footballer can’t control a simple square ball with the outside of his right boot (thus keeping his body between the ball and the defender closing on him from behind him on his left hand side) and smash it into the net so Arsenal can go through a Champions League tie on away goals?
Are you kidding me? He can’t kill a simple ball dead that a million 12 year old kids can?
This must all be a bad dream?
Was I the only one who noticed his lack of control in the past 4 years, how simple passes would bobble a yard away from him? And sure enough in the critical moment, who does the chance fall to?
See as you well know, that’s the funny thing about football. You can be absolute crap and be played off the park, but you just might get one sniff, one chance, and if you take it you can win, justified or not.
And you go and apologize to the plank for his non hand ball?
My you have really indeed lost the plot haven’t you?
You have gone soft my old friend! You don’t care anymore, nor do I!
You used to call a spade a spade. That was what set you apart. Now you publish hero worship garbage from your friends fellating Wenger for how fucking great he is!
Time to hang it up, after all these years it’s run it’s course. It’s stale. You know and I know it!
And while we are on the subject of apologies, that pompous twat Wenger should apologize to all of us for making us watch players like him and the wondrous Denilson for the last five odd years. And for having to listen to his bullshit drivel about the so called “mental strength” of these tried and true LOSERS!
Gimme a break, apologizing to Bendtner, have you gone bonkers?
It has all gone so shabby now, so squalid, so hopeless.
Very depressing!!!!
The Arsenal is not even a welcome and fun respite from the world anymore. No longer a way to escape from the killing, the wars, the poisoning of the planet and its people, the lying, obfuscating governments and media, who hypnotize the masses with their tabloid garbage. No longer a way to flee from the corporate bankers and globalists and military complex that controls us all now.
I want my two hours on Saturday back! I want a team that I can get behind back! I want players that I support back!
After 30 years with the club, to tell you the truth I couldn’t give a toss about these players. Didn’t ever bother to watch the Cup game at OT nor the West Brom game. Knew the results, Been there. Done that.
After checking on you daily for 12 years or so I think, I haven’t read you in two weeks. Why? What’s the point? You’ve said it all, I’ve watched it all.
I’m done! Cheerio..
And you should be too.
Your gut has been telling you it for awhile now, it is time my old friend.
I’ll make a deal with you.
When Wenger goes and takes all his rubbish with him, you write about the club again. I’ll watch again and I’ll read you again.
Deal?

Don’t tempt me!
If ANR wasn’t my home page, I could forget about it quite easily. I wouldn’t see it every morning when I switch on my computer.
I’d just work on my book for two hours, check my private emails, then work on my book again.
In truth, I keep doing ANR because I love my readers, not because I love Wenger or Arsenal, although I used to be very fond of Arsenal before it became an Amerikan corporation.
On Bendtner, I think mistakes should be corrected, regardless of whether I like a player or not.
Bendnter, like Denilson, Diaby, Almunia and Aliadiere, proves that developing footballers is a speculative business unless kids are as obviously gifted at 13 as Messi or Fabregas or Wilshere.
Football coaching is not voodoo. But managers would like you to think that it is voodoo.
They want us to think that they know thousands of secrets and mysteries that can never be revealed to civilians like us.
And, very often, fans give managers the benefit of the doubt because they love their club and see their team through rose-tinted glasses.
On the late chance against Barcelona, I thought Bendtner should have thrown his boot at the ball. He should have hit it first time.
Ian Wright would have poked it. Gary Lineker would have poked it.
My first reaction when I saw Nicklas Bendtner try to control that ball was: Darren Bent would have poked that!
You’re right about rip-off bankers and the military-industrial complex.
In the West now, democracy = capitalism = rape of the middle classes by corporations and billionaires. If the public sector cuts were done in a nuanced way, most people would have accepted them. We’ve become a low-wage economy. Normal jobs are worth less and there is obviously huge frustration around that. And there’s a general feeling that people on benefits are living the same lifestyle as people who have jobs and pay taxes.
I met gambling Tony in the street this morning and he had his FT under his arm, as always.
Myles : “What d’you think of Osborne’s budget? Is he an idiot?”
Tony : “Even an orang utang knows that cuts will put us into recession.”
Last night I was told Arsenal have agreed a deal for Gary Cahill from Bolton.
Hope that’s true. Cahill is 25 and has played over 100 league games for Bolton and he signed a three-year contract with them in August 2009.
Don’t know if his contract has been improved since then.
But Bolton boss Owen Coyle thinks Gary Cahill is a phenomenal talent.
