Why has he made this U-turn now?
As you know, the club gave him far too much power.
That process was lazy and irresponsible and Arsene FC became a one-man show. It’s been ridiculous for years but it became visibly and obviously bonkers this season.
Some ghastly performances, a few pitiful results against Bayern,West Brom and others.
Then, after West Brom, it turned into open warfare between Gazidis and Wenger.
Recruitment has been abysmal because American Dick Law is a buffoon who shouldn’t be there.But also because Wenger dithers, makes up his mind, then changes his mind again. That’s what drives the recruitment team crazy. And that’s when Colney becomes a carnival of dysfunction.
So why has Wenger accepted a Director of Football now?
Because he knows Chelsea will hammer Arsenal 6-1.
A team that’s strong enough to win the league by 12 points is strong enough to also win the FA Cup.
I think Antonio Conte’s champions will trash Arsenal and use Wembley as a lap of honour to celebrate regaining the title they lost last season.
