Why ESPN should hire George Graham

ESPN have taken over Setanta’s games.

They have three Arsenal matches before Xmas.

All are Saturday games at 5.15pm

Everton on August 15 at Goodison.
Fulham on September 26 at Craven Cottage
And Wolves v Arsenal on October 31.

ESPN are a good company based in Connecticut. The Irish could not make that package work but maybe the Yanks can.

If you want to sign up, it’s £9 a month from August 3, I’m told.

What commentator will they use? What pundits will they have in the studio?

Surely not Sherwood and McManaman!

They can’t hire Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson, Andy Gray and Martin Tyler but they need a marquee name.
They also need a world class presenter like Richard Keys.

Clive James once said he was the only journalist who saw David Vine as a reason for switching a TV set on.

I’m a bit like that with Richard Keys. I think he’s good. And he’s a trained journalist. You can’t say that about Lineker.

Bottom line, ESPN need someone with authority in the studio. Somebody who has won league titles. Someone who is telegenic, experienced, succint and shrewd.
Not many with that CV, are there?

That’s why they need George Graham.
