Arsenal board meeting looks at Usmanov rights issue proposal

Arsenal have a board meeting today.

To discuss the rights issue suggested by Usmanov.

Clearly, there will be no rights issue.
We are sure of that – and so is Usmanov.

In the meantime, Gazidis has been doing a series of interviews with broadsheet reporters like Mathew Goodman (ST), Roger Bitz (FT) and David Conn (Guardian).

As you know, Arsenal want to be sensible and sustainable over the long term.

The headline and sub-heads on David Conn’s feature are as follows:

Arsenal chief executive calls for salary cap
Ivan Gazidis calls for wage restraint in Premier League
Former MLS deputy commissioner hails ‘profitable’ Bundesliga

Can you see a salary cap being agreed by the EPL?
I can’t.

The UK is a deregulated warzone where everything is for sale and almost everything is allowed, even now, after greedhead bankers have wrecked the world economy.

Can you see Arsenal lowering ticket prices to match those of the Bundesliga?
I can’t see that either.

Did Arsenal bungle the maths on their property development at Highbury Square?
We don’t know. No reporter has been told the facts.

Presumably, Danny Fiszman and MD Keith Edelman did the maths on that.
Long before Edelman was sacked and, eight months later, Gazidis hired.

If Gazidis knows all the numbers, he won’t cough them up to David Conn or Roger Bitz, will he ?

The MLS do transparency.
Arsenal don’t.
