Roy learned so much from Slovakia 0-0

From Stuart Laws : Genius selection!

Roy learnt so much from Slovakia , his third game. So did I.

Sturridge and Vardy are super subs. Vardy can do a job wide if needed.

Wilshere is not fit. 15 min sub role for him too.

Henderson can fit in anywhere and do a job. And is fit.

The rest got much needed match practice and experience.
I think that was more valuable than playing the first 11.

Continuity? They play together every day.

He has 1 decision IMO. Sterling or Vardy?
May depend who we play.

Kane will lead the again, just as Giroud will for France when proper games start.

Odd isn’t it, how going into this our strength was the forwards ,weakness the defence? That’s been turned on it’s head.

Easier to coach defence. Always been easier to destroy than create.
Dier should not be referred to as English anymore. He’s too good. he’s Portuguese. Hope he moves abroad so he doesn’t lose it.

Oh, and I learnt….don’t record a match and watch it as 10pm as live giving the wife instructions not to tell you the score. She can tell me if it’s a dull 0-0. How will she know? Its England!

Myles says :

We did as live with tennis recently on  Jan’s birthday weekend.

That coincided with the Queen’s Final. Caroline took us all out to 192 Fenchurch Street,  a roof cafe and “garden”  in the City which is a public space and free. But you have to book tickets three weeks in advance

I’d never heard of the Sky Garden but we had fun and would go again

It’s on the 35th floor and you have to go through airport-style security. The tickets are not transferable, so you have to show a bank card with your name on it before you get as far as the airport security.

After that jolly outing the parents came back and watched Murray v Djokovic on the SkyHDbox, not knowing the result.

We got home about 6pm and started watching the first set, hoping nobody would phone…and nobody did.

By last Friday the England players were blaming the 0-0 draw on Roy’s six changes.

They would do that. Most British footballers, like most people, have BSE in their DNA: blame somebody else.

I thought six was three too many – and still do.

More this afternoon on England v Iceland.

When I saw Roy’s selections  I thought : Do I Not Like That!
