Michael Hodgson’s England team & strategy

From Michael Budgen

No, Myles & Rhys, Dele Alli isn’t playing well, because the team and opposition aren’t set up to suit him.

He’s doing a job, and playing because Rooney can pass but can’t run.

Roy thinks he’s needs a youngsters legs to run for the old chap, but against Russia, Wales & Slovakia, we needed a keep-ball dribbler like Wilshere, who should play instead of Delboy !

Then when ( ho ! ho !) we get thru to face a decent team, in the Quarters or Semi, revert to a deep-lying counter-attacking game, with Vardy up front, Rooney using his brain to knock it into space he would love to be in.

And let Delboy run his socks off, so let’s rest him now and keep his powder dry.

Regards.

Myles says:

You should have told Roy that before he ditched Drinkwater.

I started missing Drinkwater the day after he was excluded from the 23.

Last night I was talking to a Scottish friend who phoned on the final whistle and he said Andros Townsend deserved to go more than Raheem Sterling – and I agreed.

I said, ” A manager who can’t pick the right squad is never gonna pick the right team.”

He said, “That’s your headline for tomorrow morning.”
