As Arsenal stutter, Spurs look ready to batter Stoke

Without Jack Butland, Stoke looked vulnerable last time out.

Before the international break, Stoke won 2-1 at Watford with Butland in goal.

That was the weekend that Spurs thrashed Bournemouth 3-0.

In Berlin, playing for England, Butland got an ankle fracture.

Last weekend No.2 keeper Jakob Haugaard, a 23-year old Dane, looked wobbly and Stoke were hammered 4-1 at Liverpool.

Shay Given, 40 this week, is expected to play tonight and I wish him luck.

One of the good guys of football, Given could be facing a 90-minute bombardment from  Harry Kane and Dele Alli, the bang!bang! twins of the new Engerland.

Butland voted for Dele Alli to be the PFA Young Player of the Year and he’s not a bad judge.

Do you like Monday Night Football?

I love it when there’s just one game on. That sharpens my focus & maximises my enjoyment.

As another Arsenal season fizzled out, we had to watch Wenger’s flaccid team stumble to a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace, who are 16th in the table.

Your favourite blogger scribbled 5 pages of notes on that match and 45 minutes ago I had every intention of typing out the highlights of those notes right here.

But you know what……it’s a sunny morning in London town
