Iwobi & Welbeck & Sanchez are fast and blend well

Everton  0 Arsenal 2

Sanchez crafted a sweet one-two with Ozil, then played Danny Welbeck in for the first goal.

1-0 to the Arsenal at Goodison in 7 minutes

Then Bellerin hit a Fabregas pass over the top and Alex Iwobi broke away and nutmegged keeper Robles.

2-0 the Arsenal in 42.

Iwobe is 19 and this was a very impressive Premier League debut

He wanted the ball, he tackled and worked, he showed an enthusiasm that’s infectious. And he already looks a more mature all-round footballer than Walcott or Oxlade will ever be.

Are Giroud and Walcott finished? Should be. They’re not up to it.

As I noted on Saturday morning, Everton never beat Arsenal. They’ve only beaten Arsenal once in 18 games

Iwobe’s uncle is Jay-Jay Okacha, a very creative midfielder who played 75 games for Nigeria. Okacha made his name in Germany before playing for Fenerbahce,PSG and Bolton.

This week the nephew is making the news.

His PL debut was excellent against an Everton side that’s stylish but brittle.

Danny Welbeck plays with the guts and pace that Giroud lacks.

And that suits Iwobe and Sanchez. Those three suit Ozil because all of them are busting a gut to get into a position for a pass from him.

Playmakers need runners. That’s a minimum requirement.

Ideally, playmakers like Mahrez, Ozil, and David Silva  need runners who can finish.

Yes, it’s early days,  it’s very early days. Iwobi’s  just a kid.

But Paul Davis was a kid too. Paul was 18 when he played his first game at White Hart Lane. Don Howe and Terry Neill thought he was good enough and they were right and Arsenal won 1-0.

Right now, Alex Iwobi looks here to stay. As Marcus Rashford does at Manchester United.

But, of course, it’s not your first 4 games that matter.

It’s the next 400 that make you a star.
