I love Everton’s still-evolving style of play.
It’s more varied than Arsenal’s.
But Everton don’t win enough games.
Neither do Arsenal these days. What’s their stat? One win in the last 9 games in all comps?
And that was a replay at Hull!
Everton have already lost seven at home in the league. And although they never beat Arsenal, they’ll see today’s game as an opportunity.
The Toffees have some big strong boys, especially Barkley and Lukaku.
Ross Barkley can hold you off, turn and kill you with pass or a shot. He’s improved a lot but is still an enigma.
Romelu Lukaku is a powerhouse but inconsistent. Both these hulks have the equipment to be great Premier League footballers…..maybe.
Joel Campbell and Mesut Ozil look like the biggest threats to Everton.
It’s a 12.45 kick-off but I’m going to Chelsea v West Ham.
Can’t wait to see Dimitri Payet show Fabregas how to play football. I’m buzzing, can’t wait!
Every player West Ham have signed has exceeded expectations, not just Dimi.
Antonio is Emile Heskey with skill.
West Ham’s recruitment makes Arsenal’s look very hit-and-miss.
We always arrive early to see the players warming up and today we have a reason to get there extra-early.
On Wednesday night I saw the best exhibition I’ve seen at Proud Camden.
American photojournalist Michael Gaffney’s show is The Champ : My Year with Muhammad Ali.
We met Michael, who travelled and lived with Ali and in 1977/78 and took intimate portraits of his family as well as his fights and training.
His conclusion, after repeatedly seeing how Ali interacted with people everywhere he went, showing such empathy, patience and respect for everyone, was that Ali was more like a holy man than a boxer.
A blonde we met that night, Christina Jansen, also has an exhibition of Muhammad Ali photos at Stamford Bridge, and we want to see that as well.
That’s why we want to be inside the stadium by 2pm, if poss.
