Arsenal have won games with late goals this season.
But Arsene has warned that Michael Owen is dangerous and could get his sharpness back.
On that, I’d say that Owen is England-minded and wants to show Capello he is relevant. Fabio likes a big striker and Owen may now be no more than a sub.
As Adebayor has become more confident, he’s started scoring goals with his right foot, his head, his left foot – and with penalties. He is hot right now. Unplayably fast and strong, covering huge yardage as well as demonstrating scary pace, Adebayor looks as if he can win games in his own.
He can’t, of course. It’s a team game and he needs the right service and others have to score goals. Tonight would be a good time for others to start and Fab4 is the man for that job. If Cesc Fabregas is playing at his best, he’ll score. If he’s not playing at his best, he won’t. His form from now on will be crucial. His form has to improve a little bit. And I think it will.
For Newcastle, jailbird Joey Barton will be on the bench. Charles N’Zogbia has always looked to me like a player Arsenal should sign, so it will be interesting to see if N’Zogbia can do anything tonight.
I thought Dennis Wise was a Kevin Keegan appointment but today we are told that the former Leeds boss has joined Newcastle in an as yet unspecified role.
INCREDIBLE ! Is it me, or is Mike Ashley a complete oaf ? Am I missing something ?
Overall, I’m enjoying this season. It’s been interesting so far. Ramos is trying to sign a new back four. Rafa is looking for more wingers and full backs. I’m following the Irish project at Sunderland, and keeping an eye on Alex McLeish and young Pato at AC Milan.
February is always more exciting than January, but January hasn’t been too bad, has it? Plenty to talk about.
Tonight, with Sagna and Hleb back, Arsenal will win and go top again.
